Week Three - BLING IT ON!

Linda says to "Bling it on!"  I like all  of the subtle Bling Ring play on words.  We sound like a group of notorious jewel thieves, The Bling Ring.  Those who have injured themselves because of wearing their ring have felt the bling ring sting.  Those who have scraped something while wearing the ring have experienced the bling ring ding

Have fun in week three.
Sincerely, The King Road Bling Ring Ding-a-ling

Craft and a snack this week:  Rice Krispie pumpkins.  Be sure to remove your Bling, Ring and butter your hands.  Place a piece of candy in the center of each orange ball.  Add leaves and stems.  A real mess, but fun.  Jake's has its own personality.

Wednesday = Off to Ann Arbor Book Group. Can't wait to see what they have to say.

Week Two - October 19-26

This is the spot designed for posting what is going on with the Bling Ring the second week.  Click on the comment box below this post.  After you have written your "blog", be certain to click on the box that says "Publish".

Bev's experience was really interesting!  I think that I will start explaining with the "11 rings and 10 women" line.  That seemed to open dialogue!  Fun.
However, if there has been no great Bling Ring happening, you may want to comment this week on:
  • what your relatives have said
  • how you remember to put your ring on when you leave home
  • letting someone try on your Bling
Loaner Bling
Can you see me in this picture?
I am reflected in the ring that I took for a friend (Ann Minock) to wear when she was the fourth with three of the Bling Ring.  She seemed pleased and wore the ring the whole time!
Spare Bling.  What a concept!  Your reflection in the Bling - stuff for deep thoughts.
Having fun yet?
Guess this bling that Bev wears is none too subtle!

Group dynamics

Eleven rings for ten women.  It was amazing to see how certain rings seemed just right for certain ladies.  Judy had purchased all of the rings.
From there, we found that the group dynamics became interesting.  How should we choose the rings?  Make a game of it?  Chance?  The rings were not all the same price and some were a lot more overstated than the others.  Consensus seemed easily reached.  The cost was evenly divided so all rings were valued the same.  (Judy removed the price tags so no one knows whether they have a real bargain or not!)  Some dove right in, others observed and waited.  Exchanges were made.  Ultimately, we all left with a ring that we would NEVER normally wear, but were somehow attracted to.  Now the fun can begin.
Rules.  We thought we needed rules.  Hmmmm.
  • Rule #1:  From October 12, 2011 to November 9th the rings are to be worn whenever we leave the house.
  • Rule #2:  Explaining the ring to others is totally dependent on the circumstances and the discretion of the wearer.
  • I cannot remember any more rules!  Anyone?

Getting our rings

On Wednesday we will receive our rings!  I am excited to see the amount of BLING that will adorne my finger for the next month.  Already, I am thinking that I need a manicure.  Other thoughts can be recorded here over the next month.
So, are you excited?
