From there, we found that the group dynamics became interesting. How should we choose the rings? Make a game of it? Chance? The rings were not all the same price and some were a lot more overstated than the others. Consensus seemed easily reached. The cost was evenly divided so all rings were valued the same. (Judy removed the price tags so no one knows whether they have a real bargain or not!) Some dove right in, others observed and waited. Exchanges were made. Ultimately, we all left with a ring that we would NEVER normally wear, but were somehow attracted to. Now the fun can begin.
Rules. We thought we needed rules. Hmmmm.
- Rule #1: From October 12, 2011 to November 9th the rings are to be worn whenever we leave the house.
- Rule #2: Explaining the ring to others is totally dependent on the circumstances and the discretion of the wearer.
- I cannot remember any more rules! Anyone?

Someone let me know if you cannot comment. I changed a few settings.
What fun! Cannot wait to see and hear all the reactions to our bling.
We will be the envy of everyone.
Judy
About that envy thing: Are we making outselves the "in" group?
On my way to play euchre with people I do not know or do not know well. Feeling a little foolish. I guess this is the first real experience. Wish me luck.
Today my daughter commented how beautiful my ring is. You know what that means!?! I'm gonna have to hide it. What fun!
Well, I went back to the store and
got the biggest ring they had. I
wore it to get my hair cut and then
to the Township Meeting tonight.
Not one comment! How could they
miss it - it's the size of a baseball. Maybe tomorrow.
Friday - Kroger and Costco - no
comment - darn! However, went over
to Joanne's and she loved it, Dan
laughed, but my beloved Renee thought the ring was the most
beautiful thing she had ever seen!
No comment at the meeting is understandable. They could not "broach" the subject of a ring to a lady who wore an insect broach with moving parts on her shoulder to a previous meeting. In the absence of comments, there are probably some interesting "looks" that are shot our way!
Just saw Cindy at Kroger check out. So we checked out each other's BLING!
She may think I am a little dense. I am wearing green and the MSU vs UofM game is about to start. She said"You guys are doing great.". I was blank. I forget to identify with the team! Sorry, Cindy.
BTW, your bling looked great!
Confession: I left home this morning without the ring. I noticed it at the first corner. Could have turned around and gone home for it, but I did not. Felt naked and guilty! I have worn it all afternoon in the house. Feeling better!
Hip! Hip! Horray! Downtown Davisburg with Garden Club cleaning out the barrels. Many funny looks. After at the Township, Laura said "thats some
ring". Thought it looked a little strange with my gardening sweats, but loved the whole idea.
BLING
First day - two instructors at PT commented in a fun girlish way.
Friday - cashier looked at the ring then me then without any expression on her face took my money. Dollar store, they must see everything.
Saturday - tailgate party. Too cold to go without gloves. Missed a good chance for comments. I did have it in my pocket.
Sunday (16th) Went out for dinner with too old friends. Their reaction was "is that the Hope Diamond? Giggle, giggle. I did not feel the need to explain the ring, I only said "one could only hope."
Monday (17th). Fun day. The Instructors at PT asked about all the comments I have received on the ring. They are really in to it.
I went with Tom for a Flu shot at Oakland County. The nurse next to the one Tom was seeing commented on the ring. Wanted to know how I had the strength to hold it up. I started to tell her the story about 11 of us wearing the rings and before I could get into the whole story she asked excitedly if I had read The Necklace. Oh what fun. We had everyone in the room talking about the book. The nurse had gone to a book signing in Palm Springs and 7 of the owners were there with the necklace. She even touched it. She said it looked much like a tennis bracelet. Tom took a picture of the nurse and me with the ring front center. Made my day, her day and everyone in the room buzzing.
Observation : Wearing the bling ring is all about attitude! It is like wearing hats. If you think the hat looks good on you, it does because of he way you carry yourself.
The bling can be a fun thing in public or somewhat embarrassing. All in how you present yourself. Did you giggle and flaunt or spend time explaining?
Tuesday (18th).
Sent from my iPad
Tuesday afternoon - OMG! Went to
Chico's and three of the salespeople commented individually. They loved
the ring and the story.
Switched my name to Judyatbeach to
see if I show up that way.
